News Release - 12/16/2006
New features are in!

Traffic incidents on the map are now available Nation wide for members**
Incidents that may slow down your commute to events are displayed at their geographic locations in real-time.

Daily weather conditions on the map are now available for members in Colorado,
and most of the southern and western states including California, Texas and Florida.

Events added in the last 5 days are now highlighted with an exclamation point in the listing grid.

Events that you have saved are now highlighted for members with a star in the listing grid.

Multiple event icons that are close are now gathered up
into group icons to reduce map clutter, if you place your mouse on these
special group icons you can page through the popups to find events or zoom
in to break them up into their individual icon locations.

Visual search and current
location boundaries are highlighted for members by use of map polygons. The Blue
polygon represents the search radius in miles from your starting point
of home. The red polygon represents your drift from your starting point
and starting search area on the map and indicates your new search radius
from map center. As you drift or crawl across the map your event
search crawls with you and will show you events that may be located in
that area while events in your starting area fall out of search range.
New listing features!
The most significant change to our site is the new listing
system. The new system helps define how the service will work for you and
your events. As version 2.0 of the system we have improved the overall
flow of the system making it much easier and faster to complete your listing
while offering many new options and features.
- Rules - when listing a one time event
you will be limited to 30 days on the map, however you can initiate your
listing months before it will be scheduled to appear. In the case of a
market or business that wants to maintain a constant listing we offer up
to one year of continuous map exposure with one listing.
- Listing types and categories added - They include
Real-estate, Trade Shows & Expos, Attractions & Oddities.
- Descriptions - there are now 2 descriptions fields,
one for your full event description and one designed just for your map
popup. This new feature allows you to organize your in-depth event data
differently than the slogan or eye catching phrase you may want on you
popup.
- Rich Text & HTML - In your descriptions we now allow
full use of HTML and for less experienced people we have a more basic Rich
text editing ability. This means you can paste in highly formatted HTML
in both the full description or popup. You can link to images, tables,
text or email addresses on your event website without uploading any data
to us. This new feature gives you the power to layout your descriptions
in a completely custom way. **NOTE - There is a limit to the amount
of HTML or text you can use in your descriptions and keeping the size of
your popup standardized is important to maintain continuity on the map.
- Icons - We have added many more custom
featured icons for you to choose from and they are broken down by listing
type. All custom Icons are the sole property of NavDog, LLC and cannot
be used on any other site.
- Coupons or Ads - Can be placed on driving directions. If
you want to promote your event in as many places as possible you can create
a graphical image ad to be placed on all rendered driving directions except
directions that include your event. Or you can create a custom coupon
that will be placed on all directions that include your event to save visitors
money on admission or to give away a free gift.
- Promo Codes - we have created special promo codes
that will save you money on listing features. They are entered at the
end of the process and apply % off the total cost or your listing. You
can email us to request a code or find them out on the internet as part
of other promotions.
